2021.12.02 03:02 RispJs90 Tobii eye tracker 4c

Hi fellow truckers!
I am able to get 1 of these used tobii eye tracker 4c in my local country for around 90usd
I know its the older ver. But a new 1 cost too much and its even worst to ship to my country and its the same goes to those headtracker device. Conversions & shipping is too much.
I am currently running a triple monitor setup
Was wondering if having this is overkill, and does anyone use it has any feedback?
I think mainly i just wan a quick lookout cabin view instead of a button.
Thanks!

2021.12.02 03:02 zeekar Sliding over a sequence with overlapping windows

Day 1 of this year's Advent of Code involved sliding, overlapping windows on a list of data. I was a bit surprised that Raku doesn't seem to have a built-in method for iterating in this fashion.
The actual problem is to count the number of times a value in a numeric list is greater than the preceding one. Here's one way to do that in Ruby, using the problem's sample data:

irb(main):001:0> sample = [ 199, 200, 208, 210, 200, 207, 240, 269, 260, 263 ] irb(main):002:0> puts sample.each_cons(2).map { |a,b| a < b }.count(true) 7
(It's naturally pithier in APL, which is the solution that started me down this path after I'd already solved it rather less elegantly with awk:
 sample ← 199 200 208 210 200 207 240 269 260 263 +/2
)
So, how best to do this in Raku? There's an example at Raku Musings that does it somewhat manually with indexes, the key construct being this idiom to take $S elements at a time from @A:
(0 .. @A.elems - $S).map({ @A[$_ .. $_ + $S -1] })
So I generalized that into a method that I monkey-patched (shame!) into the Array class:
use MONKEY-TYPING; augment class Array { multi method window(Int:D $size) { gather { for (^(self.elems - $size + 1)) -> $i { take self[$i .. $i + $size - 1] } } } };
I could then do this:
my @sample = (199, 200, 208, 210, 200, 207, 240, 269, 260, 263); say @sample.window(2).map( { [<]($_) }).sum; #=> 7
I look forward to reading other folks' solutions to the AoC problem, but I'm currently more interested in the general sliding-windows tool. TIMTOWTDI, and I assume there are some that are rather better than my clumsy attempt.
Also, what would be the best way to do this without the monkey-patching? I don't think there's an equivalent of Ruby's refinements to limit the monkey-patching to a lexical scope, but I could declare the method itself as lexical outside of the class and just call it with .&. Or I could just make it a bare sub, I suppose.

2021.12.02 03:02 christusmajestatis Is there some truth or knowledge too profound to be expressed in human language (or generally, to be understandable by human reason)?

I know it is a deep-rooted and recurrent theme in Eastern Philosophy. 'The way that could be expressed is not the eternal Way' from Laotzu, or in Buddhism where the noble truths cannot be truly explained in human language.
